Traditions around the World

December 14, 2012

Dear Parents,

Hello.  We hope that all is well and that you are looking forward to the upcoming Christmas break.  It was nice to see many of you at the Holiday Concert.  Montessori’s traditions of acceptance of everyone throughout the world still holds true.  We hope that you enjoyed hearing the different styles of music for various countries.

We have been busy learning about traditions from around the world for this time of year.  Mrs. Herion came in to speak about a Swedish tradition on Thursday.  Ask your child to share some of the information that they found interesting during her presentation.   On Monday, we will have someone come and share about Hanukkah.

Please start saving your empty toilet paper rolls.  We will be making a decoration for the auction and it may even be auctioned off that night.

Please support our Hope project.  Our goal is $2,000 and we have reached $300.  The children can do jobs around the house and earn extra change to buy candles.  You may also like to purchase the cards that 6 to 9 year olds made.  They are really cute!

Just a quick reminder that next week is our last full week of school before the holiday with Friday being a ½ day.  Remember that there is no after school offered on December 21, 2012.  Enjoy your holiday.

Thank you,
Christy
